Come and take a stroll in the Arboretum, watch your children let off
steam in the adventure playground, enjoy the wonderful Bird of Prey
displays, or hand feed the wallabies in the Mammal Centre. We have a
lot to offer the whole family - keep your eyes peeled for our fun
seasonal trails, family event days, open-air concerts, workshops,
lunches, and guided tours.
Thorp Perrow is the home of one of the UK's finest collections of
trees, including five National Plant Collections, and a leading centre
for raptor conservation.
Join us on this truly unique experience where we will introduce
the healing benefits of earthing or otherwise known as
barefooting - after a guided meditation session to increase
mindfulness, you will be encouraged to have fun and try new
things like mud muckling, stepping on stones, feeling roots and
moss, all in your bare feet.
We'll explore the sensation of cold/hot/warm and immerse
ourselves in nature which can help trigger the production of the
happy hormone, serotine to stimulate your mood.
Simply put, grounding involves heading outside barefoot and
letting your skin connect with the earth beneath you. Whether
you wriggle your toes in soft sand or take a stroll across a
field barefoot, it enables you to reconnect with Mother Nature
in the simplest way.
Our Yoga & Wellness retreat days will be held throughout the
year in the beautiful Summer House overlooking Thorp Perrow's
private garden and lake.
Enjoy seasonal juices, tea and coffees upon arrival before
preparing for a morning of Yoga and guided meditation, led by
Kelly (Yorkshire Yogi). A nutritious two course lunch will start
the afternoon off, before you head into the Arboretum for Forest
bathing and a guided mindfulness walk around the gardens with
Thorp Perrow's Curator, Faith. Return to the Summer House for
guided relaxation and an introduction to breathwork.
If you have a passion for photographing birds, or if you are
