Spring has Sprung at Thorp Perrow

Bluebells at Thorp Perrow

The signs of Spring are beginning to show themselves all around the Arboretum.

Snowdrops are often the first brave plant to poke their heads above ground, their appearance heralding Spring and warmer weather. Following the Snowdrops’ brave venture come ever increasing carpets of colour as Daffodil and Bluebell bulbs burst into action, and clouds of blossom explode from buds on the trees. To celebrate Spring, we’re giving away free trail and info sheets for our Spring bulb collections. Pop down and collect one, follow the suggested walk around the Arboretum, and learn fascinating facts and care tips.

We’ve got plenty of events lined up throughout the season too, from Lunch in the House with guest speaker Tom Christian, and the guided Spring Tour with our Curator, Faith, to our ever-popular Easter Trail and Craft Days for the kids. We’ve added a couple of new events into the Spring calendar this year too, so be sure to check them out in the newsletter below, or on the diary page of our website, here.

Whenever you decide to visit, there’s something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming you. Spring at Thorp Perrow is a truly sensational time of year, and one that shouldn’t be missed.
