Autumn Colours Photography Workshop
October 19, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm£55 – £60
Join photographer, Nigel Harrison, for an in-depth photography course. Learn about timing, lighting and composition, as well as some great photography hints and tips as Nigel takes you into the stunning autumn colours of the Arboretum to help you get the best shot.
Nigel is a professional landscaper, college lecturer and BBC broadcaster, with a passion for combining a love of plants and flowers with macro lens photography.
“It is very easy to admire a garden and miss the true beauty hidden beneath the petals – now I hope you will be able to see what I see and love it just as much!”
Nigel has always worked in the horticultural industry. He left school to become an apprentice gardener, working in commercial nurseries and amenity horticulture, while studying at Askham Bryan College, York.
After beginning his teaching career in Northamptonshire, Nigel returned to Askham Bryan as a lecturer in 1993. A year later he was invited to take part in BBC Radio York’s weekend gardening phone in and is still a regular broadcaster on the Sunday morning Julia Lewis Show.
A freelance landscaper and public speaker, Nigel’s love of combining gardening with photography started early. His first pay packet as a young apprentice went towards a Zenith camera. These days Nigel uses modern Nikon digital technology to help achieve his signature close-up views of flowers and plants.
