Join us for a delicious 2-course lunch with wine, served in Thorp Perrow Hall’s elegant dining room.
After the lunch, David Alderman, Honorary Director of the Tree Register of the British Isles, will give a fascinating talk on the work of the Tree Register, which records exceptionally large, tall and historic trees growing throughout Britain and Ireland. Many of these ‘Champion’ trees are held in the collection here.
David has had a passion for trees for over 35 years. From an education in forestry, he moved into local authority arboriculture, before taking early semi-retirement to concentrate on recording champion trees for the Tree Register.
Following the talk, the Curator Faith will lead a guided tour of the Arboretum, focussing on the Champion Trees within the collection.
This event is a fascinating way to learn more about exceptional trees – both across Britain and Ireland, and within the collection at Thorp Perrow.
This is a ticket-only event. Tickets are priced at £37 or £35 for Season Ticket holders.
